"纽约 is a leader in the fight against climate change, and reducing greenhouse gas emissions is crucial to achieving our ambitious goals," Governor Cuomo 说过. "With initiatives like P-12 Schools, we are empowering schools across the state to take action in creating solutions to protect our environment."
The program is part of NYSERDA's P-12 Schools Initiative that encourages schools to lower energy use and utility bills while reducing greenhouse gas emissions, the leading contributor to climate change. The P-12 Schools Initiative helps schools pursue carbon savings and clean energy projects - creating a healthier environment for children to learn and thrive. The P-12 Benchmarking Program launched in April 2019 has already served over 250 schools.
The P-12 Schools: Green and Clean Energy Solutions program offers up to $250,000 for energy studies to reduce energy loads as well as up to another $250,000 for design assistance for the installation of clean heating and cooling systems. Schools are also eligible for direct incentives for the installation of measures that reduce the building's energy use through eligible mechanical, equipment and building envelope efficiency efforts." data-title="Nov. 18, 2019" href="/state-leadership-gallery/5w24dcijurxi596q3c5ozjh9qk6zv0">
Under Governor Raimondo's leadership, 罗德岛 has accelerated its adoption of renewable energy resources and the State remains on-track to increase its clean energy portfolio ten-fold by 2020 – but more must be done.
This $1.4 million incentive program will help fund the installation of new EV charging stations – including Level II and Direct Current Fast Charging (DCFC) – at 罗德岛 workplaces, multi-unit dwellings, and state, quasi and local government properties. Incentives will be offered on a first-come, first-served basis." data-title="Oct. 31, 2019" href="/state-leadership-gallery/jl5qqlfe0xo760c62pa8ar7l76v80a">
"To respond to the challenges faced by New Yorkers on the Lake Ontario and St. Lawrence River shorelines, I called on 11 state agencies to mobilize their expertise and support local communities and help to implement actions that will create long-term sustainability," Governor Cuomo 说过. "Today, I am announcing REDI projects in Monroe and Wayne regions. These critical projects will realize the State's vision to sustainably protect and enhance the region's infrastructure, habitats, and local economies. Working together, 纽约 State agency experts and local stakeholders zeroed in on 43 projects in these counties to serve as the crucial next step to helping these shoreline communities become whole again, as well as more resilient and economically vibrant."
Since record high water levels in 2017, 纽约 State has committed more than $100 million to rebuild communities along the Lake Ontario shoreline that were devastated by flooding, only to again experience record high water levels and flooding in these same communities this year." data-title="Oct. 23, 2019 " href="/state-leadership-gallery/v8aiwsyc2mxqwvxnuzswmquioelw6h">
“For too long we've been ignoring science, and frankly, we can't afford to do it any longer. It’s time for us to deliver on the promise to our kids that we’re leaving them a better life and world than the one we inherited,” Gov. Evers 说过. “I am confident that this task force will find meaningful sustainable solutions to the climate crisis to carry our state into the future.”
The Task Force on Climate Change will advise and assist the governor in developing a strategy to mitigate and adapt to the effects of climate change for the benefit of all Wisconsin communities. Members of the task force will work closely with the Office of Sustainability and Clean Energy, created through 行政命令 #38. The task force will report their findings and policy recommendations to Gov. Evers by August 2020.
In the executive order, Gov. Evers stated climate change is a grave threat to the health, safety, and economic well-being of people and communities throughout Wisconsin. Gov. Evers has appointed Lt. Gov. Barnes to serve as chairman of the task force, who noted communities of color and low-income communities experience the first and worst consequences of climate change." data-title="Oct. 17, 2019" href="/state-leadership-gallery/idynw8c4wb80ezopxtthk9qqftzz4o">
"纽约 has been the most aggressive state in the nation to take action on climate change. We have committed ourselves to a clean-energy path with the goal of drastically reducing carbon emissions," Governor Cuomo 说过. "These green bonds, and the projects they help support, demonstrate our commitment to providing energy-efficient and cost-saving options for our campuses and communities."
The bond proceeds will be used to finance the construction, on the University's North Campus, of new residence halls that will add up to 2,000 student beds, dining and recreational facilities, as well as programming spaces. The project is following guidelines laid out by the University's Climate Action Plan, requiring no new gas infrastructure for building heat, hot water, power or cooling. The overall goal of the Climate Action Plan is to achieve carbon neutrality on campus by 2035." data-title="Sept. 27, 2019" href="/state-leadership-gallery/23yfafgxafpylu279whv1j6x67d1rs">
